Cecile Samson was born and raised in a French-speaking family in Ottawa Ontario. She went on to graduate from high school and then study Commercial Arts and Fine Arts at Algonquin College in Ottawa. Soon after college, Cecile moved to Nova Scotia and for many years the only artistic creativity was in photography, capturing life in photos, with her husband and two daughters in Cape Breton. Inspired by the sheer beauty of the island’s landscape, it was only natural that her passion for the arts eventually brought out the need to express it all on paper and canvas. Work is primarily in acrylic and watercolour, but also in pencil, pen and ink. Original artwork and prints can be found across North America and in Europe.
