Keeping a Sketchbook on my Desk

This is the first page of one of many sketchbooks kept on my desk. A Robert Bateman, Cover Series 8.5″ x 11″, 110 LB white paper 100% recycled paper. It’s there handy on my desk, where it is being used daily for taking notes, doodling and sketching.

The Sketchbook Project is an art project from the Brooklyn-based company Art House Co-op. Its permanent collection is located at the Brooklyn Art Library in New York City and holds over 26,000 sketchbooks from 135 countries around the globe.

I am participating in the Sketchbook Project 2013 and I'm excited to see my book travel in the mobile library across North America along with thousands of other sketchbooks. It's like a road trip, but with sketchbooks. This year the tour heads to Brooklyn, Austin, Atlanta, Toronto, Chicago, Portland, San Francisco and Los Angeles. Whether the library is on the road or at its permanent location in New York City, the sketchbooks are available to the public for viewing, so check out their website and find out if they are travelling to your city!
My Sketchbook Project 2013 is in the process of being digitized and you can view it here: http://www.sketchbookproject.com/users/cecilesamson/artwork
